ELKIE BROOKS Programme cover 2000

On Wednesday 19th January 2000 I was back at Cheltenham's Town Hall to see ELKIE BROOKS perform for about 105 minutes.

The concert started with a version of NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN, and continued with some new songs as well as some old classics like LILAC WINE, PEARLS A SINGER, SUNSHINE AFTER THE RAIN (which was a delight to hear), FOOL IF YOU THINK IT'S OVER, and NO MORE THE FOOL (which I had forgotten was one of hers). Some other tracks that were performed included CROSSROADS, I'M TORE DOWN (both of which reminded me of the ERIC CLAPTON concert), and GASOLINE ALLEY (which again was a delight and a surprise to hear, but then I remembered she performed it when she was in Vinegar Joe).

I thought the backing band were excellent but it was a shame the percussionist was hidden from view by the keyboard player, needless to say I really enjoyed the show.

THE ELKIE BROOKS BAND were:-
JEAN ROUSSEL - Musical Director / Keyboards
BRANDON FOWNES - Keyboards / Vocal
AL HODGE - Lead Guitar / Vocal
ROGER INNISS - Bass Guitar
MIKE CAHAN - Rhythm Guitar / Vocals
MIKE RICHARDSON - Drums
ARNAUD FRANK - Percussion
